If not, go to a...

Re: Holding Tank Vent Hose Material

Re: Holding Tank Vent Hose Material

It's called a vent hose for a reason...you have another issue going on if it keeps filling up with something else...whether it mud daubers or anything else you don't want in there.

Not much of...

Re: Holding Tank Vent Hose Material

What's a fact?

I learned around boats there are very few facts except the ones owner's and skipper's make up and/or pass along.

Like the myth that costly boat stuff works better.

Re: Holding Tank Vent Hose Material

I just used the cheapo bilge flex hose...3 years and no smells (don't get anything in the vent and it won't.)..it's only needed to transfer air/vapor...which it does quite well...and it's extremely...

Re: Rebel Heart Lawsuit

I'm still having a hard time that anyone believes that lower tier satcomms over the last 15 years have been reliable enough to bet your life, your kids life or your floating home on one.

Re: View From The Top Of A Tall Ship

Imagine trying to get a basket/litter on deck for a MEDEVAC from a helo in a storm.

It's amazing how big they seem on deck and tiny from the tops of the masts.

Re: Overtaking Vessel Wanting you to Speed Up

I think the reason "narrow channel" is not absolutely defined in the rules ifs because it is more about maneuverability of the traffic than the absolute geographical distance.

Re: Overtaking Vessel Wanting you to Speed Up

Realistically the difference between a knot or two in 40 something boats unless you are one REALLY heavily ballasted sailboat shouldn't matter that much...

But whether you sped up or not and...

Re: Alarming Increase in SAR rates?

Have we really established that numbers are up?

The USCG stats show no for US...

The other is stats for Epirbs...not total SAR.

In my experience it's the opposite...better boats and engines...

Re: Alarming Increase in SAR rates?

I think the rapid rise in 406 maritime hits is because of PLBs...you need to run the overall SAR stats against that possibility. Their affordability makes it easier to call for help than many of the...

Re: Chesapeake, VA

After 15 minutes...I'm sure the world stopped caring.
