I have seem many failed poly to poly secondary bonds, not just the one on my old catamaran.

If you would read my post I left the glass man a gallon of epoxy to do the repair on my previous polyester catamaran. The polyester didn't stick to the old polyester.

Your right, my boat which is built completely in epoxy resin so I have no choice. As I said, stick to polyester.....as least as long as the bond will allow[emoji16]

I as a supposed Minaret qualified neophyte completed the repair successfully in epoxy where the professional botched the job in polyester. As I said, stick to your comfort level and I will stick to...

Absolutely! That's why I wouldn't hire anyone that insists on using polyester for a structural repair.

Had almost the same damage on one of my keels that was repaired with polyester. Hauled the boat the next year and three quarters of it had peeled of. Repaired myself with epoxy at that point and no...

Insurance companies are in the business to make money, period. I guess the discussion is what one would consider necessary, and that's where we disagree.

I wouldn't find this odd. Insurance companies are in the business to make money, not to payout more for a superior job.

If I were you I would try to get past who the "true professionals " are and actually do some research of your own. Plenty of facts to be found.

This is incorrect. Epoxy resin is superior in secondary bonds, and a polyester repair on top of old polyester will not have the same strength as the original layup. Also there are health hazards...
