Particle board or Engineered wood... whatever you prefer to call it = crap.

I'm not talking about marine grade plywood, I'm refering to the particleboard Ikea uses to make some of their junk...

On the Beneteau 38 I got my foot stuck on the companionway ladder upon entry, then grabbed the handhold to brace...

We attended the New England boat show last week. We were quite shocked by how cheap everything seemed to be on the Beneteaus. In our view, The Hunter 40 was much nicer, with a higher quality...

Nearly two years ago, we went to the Newport RI boat show as happy owners of a Hunter 450; three months later the Hunter was sold and we purchased the Oyster 53, directly the result of the boat show....

Correct, it means nothing. Go to the boat show... the difference in quality and workmanship between the HRs, Oysters, Hylas just to name a few and the less expensive production boats should be...

Apparently you don't get it... and probably never will.

We'd be currently sailing around on a 2006 Jeanneau 54DS if it hadn't been for the quality concerns (following the survey) of the boat...

I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into this one, but here goes. Over the past three years, we've owned a Hunter 450 which we loved as a fun dockside condo which sailed nicely in the light winds off...
