Does 400 square feet of sails on a Ketch cost any more than an equal amount on a sloop on one less sail? I would think the price would be pretty close.

It used to be a guy with a cookie cutter budget could still bring home a quality item. A craftsman tool for example. Sockets made in America, with quality you could feel. Been in a Sears store...

My mizzen has a 6' boom and a 20' mast. I am changing that to a 10' boom and a 27.5' mast. The other sails are also going up in size. We are calm day sailors and the best thing for a calm day is lots...

Remember a ketch with comparable sail area, has a lot lower mast. Sailing around bridges? A tall sloop would mean lowering the mast. Not fun.
