Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
To some extent it may just be a numbers issue and not a Hunter problem. Where I am there are a lot of Hunters, so you'll see more of them on the water -- and in the yards. You'll see more Chevvys... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
My Hunter 31' would be a comfortable boat for a long cruise because of its spscious salon. It has a v-berth that will pack two people 'cozy' and an aft berth that gives more body space but less head... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
I have a nice, thick, dependable backstay on my 1983 Hunter. |

Well one leak isn't so bad, and there are none around the toe rail. |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
I'm just very protective of my Hunter. :) Ford and Chevvy made cars available to most people. Hunter did the same thing, but I think they did it very well. For instance, my 1983 doesn't have a... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
Any surveyor that wouldn't spot that should be, oh, say,a truck driver -- anything but a marine surveyor. |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
Oh I meant to say that 20' water tank is on a 31' Hunter. The person looking at the 33' Cherubini should check that out carefully, because it seems to me that some tanks were really very small. I... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
IMO only a snob would look his nose down on a Hunter. A local sailor here won PHRF Boat of the Year several years ago in a 1985 31' Hunter. Yes, with swept-back spreaders. He made better speed... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
Water tank is only 20 gal. When I was going to Key West I just put lots of extra jugs on board for drinking. You'd have to put a water maker on to cross the ocean. But that would probably be a... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
No "flame," but it would be mmore helpful to compare a Hunter to something inbetween a Hunter and a Hinckley. I didnd't buy my Hunter to sail around the world. Different strokes for different folks,... |

Re: What Makes the Hunter a Coastal Cruiser ?
I picked a Hunter as a happy compromise for a newer sailor/live-aboard. The head room is remarkable, but there is a cost to that high freeboard. When this boat had a stackpack, the combination... |
