Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

My apologies Bob, I forgot you had weakened with the christmas spirit and decided to show those poor cells some mercy
Do you see much voltage drop now between the beginning and end of the...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

Just a note here, you can not connect the Li batteries up as 8 X 6v batteries, you need to link the cells up so you build 8 x 3.2v batteries to form one big capacity 24v battery.
So, using Bob's...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

Nah, not upset about genuine comparisons between any product, it's when apples aren't being compared to apples is when I try to offer a correction

I can only go off what the manufacture...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

You have lost me with your maths, if your total Ah per 24hrs is 225Ah, you run a gen set for 2 hrs in the morning and another hr at night, why do you need 300Ah of lithium batteries?
You give no...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

I think the supply problem could be at Winston's end, the last 32 x 100Ah cells were less than 1mth old according to the guarantee papers with the listed cell numbers. That's not bad from China to...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

Well the head banging answers the second part anyway
So a run of the gen set for less than an hr each 24hrs, maybe not long enough to get the water heated though?

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

OK, then if your total load is 120Ah between recharges, why not compare the cost to 120Ah of lithium batteries? Then add in the difference recharging costs, unless this is only via plugging in to the...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

I did a cost comparison for someone a week or so back. These are prices with Aust so it may be cheaper all round in the US, but this was the break down in a post on another forum. It was in reply to...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

Another tip I picked up from reading their book that came with the cells regarding capacity testing, they let the cells sit till they have cooled between charging and discharging when charging at a...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

Hi Bob,
As you only have 100Ah battery banks the load should not be more than 50 amps for the cycle tests. All the makers specs use 0.5C charging and discharging to calculate cycle life. don't take...

Re: A poll Happy with LiFe (PO4)?

The only complaints I have had with all the systems I've either set up or had a hand in/gave advice for setting up was choosing the wrong size cells. The advice I gave to use multiple 100Ah cells in...
