I am restoring a 1975 Ta Chiao ketch. and in my marina there is a beautiful 42 foot custom ketch for sale. Also a Whitby 42, and a chouy lee.

so there are some around, older, but good ones.

Does anyone notice that boat sizes are still creeping up?

All this talk about 55's, 64's etc. Anything larger than 40 is probably starting to push my size limits. Big boats, big problems.

Gary, looks like you added more roach to the main, and sized up the mizzen considerably.
How does this affect trim? You must have moved CE aft a fair bit

Being a lover of traditionally rigged boats, I have been toying with the idea of adding sail area by using gaff mainsail, and/or mizzen.
That would move center of effort aft, so I could compensate...

I heartily agree. The sweet sheer and lines is part of tbe draw for me.
But I have also sailed.tall ship, and while most have sweet lines, some are very utilitarian.
