We use to sail almost constantly. Never had stainless wire last longer than 4 to 5 years. The bronze fittings never had to be replaced. Like wise the stay-loks. But the wire would start to break at... |

Not sure why you are doing all that climbing. We just removed each stay individually, serviced and then reattached. Assuming you have enough running riggings, mast should stay put, even if deck... |

Galvanized stays can last 20-30 years if properly coated and parceled. Has much less stress induced breakage than stainless and you do not have to worry about the lack of oxygen to the metal like you... |
