After 60 years of sailing experience here is my two cents. You need different anchors for different holding grounds. Duh. A true scottish plow is excellent for shingle bottoms. Danforth ideal for mud... |

The balls are to protect toes and the deck from getting gouged. Take them off when anchoring. |
