The commercial boats I drove or crewed on in San Francisco all had company policies that the AIS Class A was to be turned off once at the dock and secured for the day. Not trying to be... |

It is kind of silly leaving your AIS on when at the dock, unless you are planning on leaving within 2 hours... But at anchor you should leave it on as a collision avoidance device. I also would... |
