Yes, that's a given. My comment was more about why the fishing boat didn't/couldn't get out of the way at the time they did actually see him. Nighttime, high speed, approaching at an angle, etc. ...

The specs from the link indicate 2 cameras, looking fwd & rear, each with a 120º field of view (IR 50º).
