No, it’s just a crankcase vent, it is built inside the rocker cover and goes to an inlet port opening into the rocker area. There is apparently some some wire mesh filter as well, I will check it... |

I would imagine running hard for an hour at the end of a days motoring would be just as effective as flat out all day, but I have no evidence to back that up. |

Interesting, I just checked up the internets. The VP 2001, 2002 and 2003 series all have PCV, it’s just the whole system including the inlet port is incorporated into the valve cover, so you can’t... |

Thanks Dark Horse, that makes sense, didn’t realise the engine had no crankcase ventilator, will have a look next time I am aboard... Another question, IIRC on some Of their models, Yanmar... |

So, I consider myself an informed consumer on both sides of this argument. On the boats I re engined, I went for Yanmar and didn’t regret it, apart from the expense. The one I re engined myself... |

The RAN sailing guy probably has injector sleeve tools for a VP 2003 sitting around, he recently did a great job on a head rebuild, you can see it on the YouTube vids. Send him an email if they fit... |
