Re: Refitting a Compass 47

Not much to say about the water heater install. I went with the isotemp SPA20. I mounted it above the motor. The old water heater was mounted in a similar fashion. I also installed a header tank.

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

For the boat's refrigeration, I decided to go with a Sea Frost BDXP air cooled unit with the standard sized freezer bin. I had always been intrigued by the freezer bin idea. I am glad I went with it....

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

So progress is still being made. While it is not moving along as fast as I would like, it is still getting done. In June we will be at our four year anniversary with this project. My last boat...

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

The boat is still out of the water and we should be splashing on Wednesday. I did have the boat surveyed and was delighted that no issues were found. The surveyor tapped and used a moisture meter on...

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

The galley thru hull work was not too bad. I removed the galley ball valves with little issue. They were on epoxied plywood backing plates that I never really trusted. I purchased two Groco IBVF...

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

The plumbing was a pretty intensive project. I basically replaced everything. I have never had pressure water on a boat, so I had to learn a little about it. The boat originally came with a diaphragm...

Re: Refitting a Compass 47

Thanks! After all this work it is going to be tough to mostly enjoy the boat instead of just work on her. Most of the major projects from this point on are costly, and at best, I am working as an "on...
