I can understand why you want a bit more oomph than 7hp (I too live in a tidal area) and given the boat and likely value an i/b is probably the only cost effective route to add some more poke. But,... |

No expert on Ferro - but I would also go for a "backing plate" on the outside to also distribute the loads (although I guess that depends on bracket design). My initial thought would be a lump of... |
