From the recent Anchor light thread were plenty of folks who said they navigated their way through mooring fields on Radar, so for that I think AIS might be very useful - for both boats!

I wonder how folks coped before AIS?

I think OP needs to stick to visiting places that are not so confusing for him..........

Not entirely sure what a "famed cruiser" is :confused:, but I suspect OP was as much on Rant / frustration mode as expecting the rest of the world to change, otherwise an excercise in futility at...

Whilst having AIS on when tucked up in a Marina berth might be a bit OTT, hanging on the hook or a mooring ball would make some sense - never know when someone is coming within range and is heavily...
