The hole is about 3" in diameter. It could be slightly less as the rudder side to side movement at this point is around 2". On our hydraulic drive it's just the 1/2" shaft that does through that... |

Since it doesn't just go in-out, but rotates side to side with the rudder, usually you use a rubber boot like on a CV joint to seal the through hull part. We have our hydraulic drive going from the... |
