Depending on thickness of panel you need to fasten, you can find "quarter turn fasteners" that are the same thing as PYI, but much lower price. They are used in a lot of industries and quantity...

On the last boat I bought thick anodized aluminum pet tags (the kind that go on their collar) and screwed down one end to the frames of the hatches under the settees. You rotated them out of the way...
