TechNeck...
Without knowing anything about the charts and their calibration, nobody can give you any advice.
Preferably let us see one of the original .map files and the resulting .kap.

Horst,
on Linux, executability is a file attribute - imgkap is called simply imgkap there.
Maybe just take the imgkap executable to the front of the script in form of a variable in the next version...
