Everyone has their own idea of a storm and big sea's. for some its F5-6 and 7ft+ waves... for others its F7-8 and 12ft+ waves... others its F9 and 25ft+ waves...
My advice is wear brown trousers...

Agree that your heading gets knocked by the 'off swell' usually 1 in 9 waves roughly... and you go beam to for a few minutes but prefer that to having to leave the relative safety of my Hatch/Cockpit...
