I wonder if in the act of picking up a rope the rubber engine mounts have split. Difficult to tell with the weight of the engine on them, but use a crow bar and a few blocks of wood to lift up to...

They rarely need adjustment so has something recently changed?

Have a good look at the throttle cables and make sure they are in good condition, the engine mounts which don't last forever and...

If you watch this carefully you see him move the throttle lever in this video. There will be a stop bolt which can be adjusted. Make sure you are adjusting the throttle and not the cold start cable...
