Yes, I just changed all my lights to LED. Nav lights on top of mast still can cause interference? I will check it out. Cabin lights, too. Grrrr!

After some scrutiny checking various simple things I found the solution - bought another radio!

I took it to an electronics repair and the guy said it was a bad capacitor on a circuit board and...

My unit has jack for GPS and wires for external speaker. I'd like to be able to use this radio and/or fix it myself if possible.

Interesting (on two counts). First that your wife could "ground you up the mast" is pretty impressive! Second is that I didn't and don't know if my unit has a "hail" setting but will check that...
