What was someone saying about "planned obsolescence"? I would never consider buying a new laptop with less that 16 gigs of RAM if it could not be upgraded.

As a Macbook Pro user, I can recommend against it. It is heavy, gets extremely hot (to hot to put in my lap), and is an energy hog. Mine is about 18 months old, so maybe they have fixed some of these...
