Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
I'll point out that the data in the ranges have no citations. The numbers are entirely different than my experience. I have the best results with b, followed by g, followed by n. YMMV. |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
The big advantage of 802.11n is speed. For most cruiser applications the speed is a fantasy. First 'n' accomplishes the speed by strapping multiple wifi channels together. This is not a good... |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
Your points are well taken but unlikely to be useful to most boaters. I was balancing total and complete correctness with clarity. As it happens I'm doing one of the things you mentioned on... |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
192.168.10.20 is an address in one of three private IP address spaces. Private IP addresses are not routed across the Internet; this is a purposeful and elegant solution to the problem of limited IP... |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
One of the small challenges is that some of the resellers--including Islandtimepc and wififorboats change the configuration of the Bullet from the factory one. There are two issues that result - one... |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
Nick is on the right track. There is nothing particularly difficult about using a Bullet. All the "network engineering" you need to know you can learn from Wikipedia in an hour. The documentation... |

Re: Internet Ubiquiti Bullet - Any Good ?
I wouldn't use the Bullet without an antenna attached. You're counting on any self-protection circuitry in the transmitter to work correctly. |

Re: Internet, Ubiquiti Bullet: Any Good ?
Hi Marie -- My apologies - I thought you were only talking about the Bullet, not the antenna, wifi router, and so on. I'm just interested in the Bullet itself for a project I'm working on. I have... |

Re: Ubiquiti Bullet, Any Good?
I have a Bullet2HP and Air 802 antenna (9 dbi I think) that I have been thrilled with. Most of the cruiser-focused resellers are providing Bullet systems. wififorboats and islandtimepc are both... |
