Jim, I think the reality of alternators is more complex than that simply due to the hundreds of different designs out there. I was looking askance at a Japanese car (Hitachi or Denso alternator)... |

A lot of "stock" is done because it is cheap and someone can get away with it. 10AWG or even 10SAE wiring from the alternator to the battery is actually normal in the auto industry as well, SAE... |
