I have to disagree with these negative postings about n-mode aboard boats. I suspect these posters do not have n-mode routers on their boats, which makes them reject anything different.

The Ubiquity radios run Linux which allows a lot of secondary IP addresses... you could assign a "special" one out of each private-use cidr block so that there's always one you can use regardless...
