Thanks I will try that initially I was going to use a engine degreaser but concerned that it might ruin all the tubing

I did buy the Pearson 27 and have started to clean it up the the bilge is coated in old motor oil any suggestions on how to clean it up. And does anyone have a recommendation for a good bilge pump

I have been hunting for a sailboat for the Chesapeake Bay I looked at a 1987 Pearson 27 so-so shape I'm also looking at an O'Day 272 does anyone have an opinion on those boats the Pearson will need...
