I went on the 420 at Southampton boat show a couple of months back. I noticed the bottom of the transoms go down straight into the water for about 15cm. ie where most boast have a stern that comes...

1) You will know a LOT more after owning a cat (or a monohull, if you were looking for one) than you EVER will from brochures, chartering, dealers etc. Why not get an older, second hand one...

IMHO a boat show is the worst time to ask detailed/issue questions.

(It is also probably the worst time to look at boats if you are thinking of buying!)
