Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
Tf? I’m expressing an opinion about a set of reasoning and logic. Judgement of a person is saying HE is a person who lacks good reasoning. That there is something wrong with HIM. Wake up. ... |

I don’t judge him. It’s a philosophical discussion. I don’t judge anyone. I’m the person who started the thread. I’m responding to the ideas he presented |

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
“Because you want to?” That’s not a very good reason at all. What a waste of an engine, of a car, of a person. This isn’t about being cheap. It’s about replacing something that doesn’t need... |

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
I’m not sure it was so silly. If you have a functioning engine, yet it is a little older and out of date, why repower? And we are hearing people’s experiences. Doesn’t seem all that silly to... |

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
gallatin1988- This is not backed up by any evidence or science. This is a personal belief of mine. I have inherited plenty of old and barely used diesel engines in my time. In my opinion, as... |

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
The exact same engine is what had me wondering. One of my boats (really need to choose just one) has this engine in it and yes, it's letting a little oil by when cold and smoking before it warms up... |

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
What an enjoyable thread to read. Thank you for all of the input. I’m not looking to replace an engine, just was very curious. Because I feel like I see a lot of them getting pulled out before they... |

Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
Another thread got me to thinking. Why is it that people decide to re-power? Assuming you have a working engine, a diesel engine, what is the point? I see a lot of people pull out older... |
