This is precisely why I carry a copy of Code of Federal Regulations Title 33 (marine section) when cruising US waters. Many of their people do not know their own rules.

This is incorrect. The Canadian Federal Government provides no title or proof thereof. On the back side of a Canadian Certificate of Registry in the lower left hand corner it says ..........

This is valid in Canada but not acceptable to US Customs. They require original license form.
