When you decide to go with the Plywood, Do your self a big favor and dont be tempted to use the cheap POLYESTER type resin use Epoxy Resin as this will last you way longer and also provide better...

Dody's got a good point , especially if you have wood experience and only use Epoxy coatings/glue etc,
