I DO think a cat would make you happy though. 60-75% of your time at anchor and living space.... That's kind of a no-brainer.

I don't think the OP said anything about scrapping his old boat. I imagine it would be SOLD? So, sell the old "used" boat, buy a new "used" boat". What is the problem? This place is getting...

I will be happy to comment. I spent a month on a cat sailing from Florida to Colombia. The slamming freaked me out at first....it's VERY loud! I think I was used to it in the end though. It isn't...
