On the boom slide question.

I have been through 7 cyclones. One in an island ferry, 3 tied up in nice safe mangrove creaks, one at sea in my 40 footer, & 2 at anchor in the same boat.

It is a gate, & should have a hinged piece that matches the mast track, that can de swung into place completing the track, with a stainless pin to hold it in place.
