Is there a way to (have an expert) convert these old-school plates so that they work well with the BD50?

Is that the most powerful DC compressor?...

Yes, the old-school type, probably off engine-driven compressors, apparently cannot be adapted to work off the much smaller DC-driven units like Danfoss or Indel-B.
