Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
Now the big question is: Do we really need a triatic stay?:confused: Some ketches have it, some don't. Mine come with one and it's a pain to go up the mast and attach it up there every... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
Here is a real case of experience with one of the most reliable and beautifull boat on Earth! I met several owners of older models such as the 54 in the Med and they all loved their boat, so yes it... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
That's the way to go and personally I make a point to be able to fix every essential system on my boat, but it is always possible to find a challenge bigger than you and that's why professionals are... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
I'll be the devil's advocate here, but when one can afford a Amel 64, one is not concerned by costs of repairs anywhere in the world, one will probably never open a tool box and will call satellite... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
It takes all kinds of people for all kinds of boats! But to call a Amel an ugly boat is a little bit extreme, some features may not be of your taste but these boats are still considered beautiful... |

Re: The death of the ketch?
I need more info on this, my ketch is rigged to have such a sail between the two masts, there is a yellow light sail in a bag I never took out, how do you set the sheets for it? |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
I was just refering to the good old time when Eric Tabarly was sailing his Pen Duick's some were ketches and at that time they were high performers. And I agree that perfomance is NOT the reason to... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
Dave, nobody said it is a better boat or rigging, you're the one who said it was an obsolete design, and I don't agree. It does have pros and cons like all design features of a boat and each one... |

Re: The Death of the Ketch ?
Why do people associate Ketch rigs to old salty non-performing sailboats? I own a ketch but did not buy it by choice of rig and when I first started to sail and compared to my previous boats, all... |
