Re: A way To Save Charging Time

22.5 amps DC @24 volts. I doubt a heater would do this.

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

I haven't tested my battery bank, nor any others.

Apply a load that is 1/20th the size your battery bank was when new. Monitor the battery voltage and time how many hours it takes to reach 21...

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

True, that is the purpose of the thread.

But in my opinion you are not likely to do a complete capacity test. It means turning all loads and charging off after the batteries are fully charged and...

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Best bet is the op is unlikely to do a proper test.

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

How old is your battery bank? As batteries age they have less capacity. If you set the monitor to 450 AH and the batteries have lost capacity - very likely - when the monitor states that you are at...

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Make sure the shunt is the first connection after the battery negative post. If it isn't any connection that is getting around the shunt will not be counted.

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

You don't have to mess with the monitor. Use it for AH counting - both in and out of the bank. It requires no calibration for this.

Use the Smartgauge for battery bank state of charge. It doesn't...

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Conventional battery monitors need owner input to remain close to accurate. The state of charge they give can be very inaccurate. One thing they do accurately is inform you of the AH's in or out of...

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Probably no different than the DCC6000. Manual in english here:
Magnetronic (https://www.magnetronic.de/english.html)

The Smartgauge is the best way to tell your battery bank's state of charge....

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

No, it won't damage the monitor. Where did you get that idea?

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Another way of telling the bank is full is if it is accepting .5% of capacity. In other words a 900 AH bank isn't full until it is accepting 4.5 amps. Easily measured with a clamp meter.

Battery...
