Once you get it loose, roll it up FIRMLY!
Not too tight, just firm.
And post signs
"Anyone caught messing with this system will be shot, and thrown overboard"

All previous suggestions are good. The last one I was successful freeing up included:
Halyard tighten
Back & forth on main
Wiggling boom
Silicone spray on all possible moving/sliding parts (even...
