Re: Feature Requests

Click on the "Hamburger" on the bottom right of the chart window, you should see it then. It's left the main menu as you can have two chart windows now and each one could have a different quilting...

Re: Feature Requests

Try a Windows Tablet, I use a cheap one and it works fine. I don't use the radar plugin though.

Re: Feature Requests

I was merely pointing out that there are several cheap and simple non-volatile clocks available that will solve your problem. I mentioned the ones built into UPS boards because they also solve...

Re: Feature Requests

There are various real time clock add on boards for the Pi that will keep time while the pi is powered up, you then just put a line in the local.rc startup script to set the Pi clock from the...

Re: Feature Requests

My Garmin seems to emit something on NMEA2000 that my Vesper XB6000 converts to something, (presumably a WPL sentence), that OpenCpn displays as an APRS position report. It sends this when I activate...

Re: Feature Requests

Hi Rick,

I'm experimenting with a number of bluetooth beacons and some Python code that scans for their presence and can generate an alarm when one of them is not found. It should be possible...

Re: Feature Requests

That was back on 15-Nov-17 during a discussion about using bluetooth for MOB detection. I've now got some prototype code running and I'd like to see if I can get OpenCpn to create a MOB marker and...

Re: Feature Requests

I don’t see it quite like that.

We also have AIS SARTS in our life jackets but something that regularly checks you are there and reports back when you are not is intrinsically safer than...

Re: Feature Requests

Ok, that makes it sound quite doable, even for a mediocre programmer like me. I’ll investigate the Bluetooth side of it over the next while.

Re: Feature Requests

Is there an external signal (eg a specific NMEA 0183 sentence) that can alert OoenCpn to a MOB situation, set off the alarms and mark a waypoint?

Re: Feature Requests

Good idea, I’ve been thinking of this for a while but don’t have the skills to write it. If you do that with Bluetooth rather than WiFi then you won’t need an app to be running on the phone and it...

Re: Feature Requests

Hi Thomas,
That looks like it should work all right, I should have seen those tick boxes in the first place. Unfortunately I can't test it as I don't have access to a SART device, I'll just have to...

Re: Feature Requests

Thanks. I'll take a look the next time I'm on the boat, hopefully in the next two days.

Re: Feature Requests

At the moment (v 4.4) you can't disable the AIS/CPA alarm without also disabling the MOB/SART alarm too. Would it make sense to make it possible to disable them separately?
