jesus $18/gallon? wow ok I need to look into this a bit more. west marine wants $80/gal for B.Buster concentrate. thanks for the heads up.

Much thanks....finally got to it yesterday and soaked it for a couple of hours in barnacle buster. Glad i removed it...was in pretty bad shape. +1 for barnacle buster...that stuff is awesome. going...

interesting I will take a look at that. it would be nice if i could leave it in as it's hard to reach the bolts without inventing some new yoga move.

thanks. its a universal 5432 and has a westerbeke 3" heat exchanger. I found a little more info and decided to give it a go. disconnected hose from raw water pump and dipped it below the heat...

Heat Exchanger Maintenance Question.

If all i want to do is pull the end plates to check for blockage and replace the zinc, all i have to do is pull the raw water inflow hose to the exchanger and drain it before pulling the end plates...
