Exactly. Paper and electronic charts are both derived from the same data. Neither is more (nor less) accurate than the other. The disconnect here, as mentioned already, is that the GPS signal is... |

Chartplotters are not infallible. In fact, I would guess that if they had been recording where they were on a map, this might not have happened, as they would have probably been keeping a better eye... |
