Yes, yes, of course. But it's always a cost/benefit analysis. Divinicell (or whatever) costs waaay more. With a crappy plywood core, my deck lasted 30 years, even with 1,000+ tiny screw holes to pipe... |

Having removed loads of soggy, delaminated Philippine mahogany from the old core, I'd be very reluctant to use plywood as a core material. Just my $0.02. |

Yes, I think you could. You could use epoxy or fiberglass resin to stick the balsa and ply together. The balsa is very light weight and because it's segmented (over a mesh mat), it's easy to cut and... |
