Try the test a year from now, and on a hot day, and a cold day.
I suspect the cheap one will have varied more by then, and be more susceptible to temp changes.

I think if you don’t mind having panels and can install them etc, that you’ll be happy with panels, cause they just work, every day, day after day they work without you having to remember to do...

You don’t have to and I wouldn’t toss the 40 amp charger, keep it.
However do install another charger hopefully larger one. You can buy a 60 and added to the 40 that’s 100, as opposed to having...

For a Lifepo bank yes, but it doesn’t work like that for lead acid, due to declining charge acceptance rate, at three hours your going to be 85% or 90% charged just as a guess, and it’s going to take...

Even with an unlimited charge source, it’s going to take at least five hours of charging, probably longer to fully charge the batteries. Of course that means five hours or more of generator run time...

You can use several Sterling Pro chargers, they will all play together nicely, and of course that gives you redundancy. Buy a 60 amp or two to get what you want.
