Re: Powering an electric dive compressor
I’m betting a 6 KW will power it no problem, as long as it’s not running AC’s etc also. My gas power Bauer has I think a 5 HP gas motor. 6KW is over 8 HP and I’d bet an NL can handle quite a... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Well, the little Honda generators are of course run in parallel. However they are inverter generators, they may make DC that is inverted to AC, they make constant 60Hz with variable RPM. ... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Pretty sure you can get the automatic drains with a gas powered Bauer. Mine is not, however it's not an issue to me as being gas powered I would not let run in un watched, and since it's gas... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Yes, 220 ones are, but there are 110 50 amp cords I believe? Now I think about it the 50 amp ones do have dual circuit breakers. |

Powering an electric dive compressor
What would a 1 KW Life-Po bank even cost? I hope one day for maybe a 400 AH one myself. The thing I do not understand is why do boat manufacturers put generators on boats, that don't have the... |

Re: Powering an electric dive compressor
Odd, my flexmax 80 is I think very intuitive, almost as good as Garmin stuff for being able to figure out without a manual. Now I don't have all the bells and whistles though. |

Powering an electric dive compressor
You don't need unloaders and the like, my gas Bauer you just bleed the air pressure off of the drains prior to starting, it's unloaded then. If you don't have automatic drains, you bleeding them... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Never seen one, however I would pretty much say that they would be inconceivable to me. Only real boat that actually was / is fully electric propulsion that I know of is a submarine. I have heard... |

Re: Powering an electric dive compressor
Mine was just a 36' fifth wheel with a single 30 amp power cord. I did have two AC's though. Hair driers pull an enormous amount of power, I believe a powerful one will pull 15 amps, which maxes... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Your not running this compressor off of a battery bank, no conceivable bank could handle it. Phase converters are pretty common for running machine shops and big woodworking tools etc. before I... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
In order to prevent complaints they have to assume you do not have enough sense to power manage your appliances, best way to ensure there are never any complaints is to size the generator to run... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
Exemption tanks, (3442) working PSI tanks should have burst disks that burst at 5250 PSI, and even that leaves a wide safety margin. That is from memory, so it may be slightly off. However it's not... |

Powering an electric dive compressor
It will both start and run fine off of your generator, but not while your heating water and running a few airconditioners, and that is what the sales guy is worried about, most people really do not... |
