Check the Airmar doc at

It states the compatibility and the throughhull fitting parts supported. You might have to do Say to Airmar part...

Most Raymarine sensors are sourced from Airrmar. You can go to the Airmar site to see compatibility.

Personally I'd rather see it instantaneously display on my instruments.
I've done many hours the old way. More error prone, more time consuming. Satisfying when you get the result every few hours.

I'm referring to multi-day passages. These are not just tidal currents , they are ocean currents.
Even in more enclosed areas tidal currents are not constant across an area. There are back eddies,...

Knowing what the current is doing can make a significant difference on a passage. Stay in the peak positive current, work out of the worst negative current. It can be a chunk of miles over 24hrs.

The dst800 is a paddle wheel device. The udst800 is an ultrasound speed device and about $700 more.
