Given that 230v will require half the amps and amps tend to equate to heat and heat is the enemy of most things electrical, then a 230v compressor motor will tend to last longer than a 120v unit. ... |

I run a 1.5 hp single phase 120v motor for my water maker on a 5kw genset. It does react a bit on startup, which is done under no load. If you drain all of the pressure in the compressor I can't... |
