Schoolboy,

Cement is caustic and expands as it hardens. Iron and steel also expand and interestingly enough at the same rate as cement. This allows a very strong bond that as long as you keep air...

Hopefully with cooler heads now.

My wife and I are looking at buying our first boat and the three materials on the list are GRP, Metal (not just steel), FC. Wood is nice but a heck of a lot of work considering the amount of things...
