If you have two 48V battery banks, then having a separate DC-DC converter for each 48V bank would provide redundant 12V DC power for your VHF and all other 12V devices without any need for a 12V...

I would consider combining the propulsion and domestic battery banks into one 48V bank exceeding 20KWh and using a DC-DC converter to provide 12V as needed. Then the solar capacity could be used to...
