Yep, its a bug. HDM and HDG messages do not properly reset the watchdog timeout, so that the heading information is declared stale and unusable...

From looking at the code, HDG should be able to provide correct ships heading. Your HDG sentence is incomplete, and does not contain variation. However, I see that it comes in on the...

I'm confused. This works for me. I get HDM from my autopilot, it is converted to gHDT by the WMM PlugIn, (or other source of Var) and it orients the boat properly to true north.
