We (you, me, or Amphenol) must be counting from the other end of the connector, or something like that.

The photo you have with the red wire attached to the lower row definitely works....

The wire is connected to the lower row.
Would not be the first time that a spec drawing is just wrong.

Get the part and check it out with an ohm-meter....
Or make a F-F patch...

Looks like the same part to me. Maybe just an inverted (component-side) graphic is used in the spec?
