Many ways lead to Rome. I like the double soft shakles because one eye holds the bridle eyes together and is rarely opened, the other attaches to the chain. It is same setup I use for the sheets....

"Chain hooks are not intended for transferring the full load from the chain". Well I discussed this with the manufacturer of the chain and chainhook as they produce both. My chain size is smaller...
