I like your palette. I think it looks a little better with deep depths grey though. idpnd is right, it softens it up a bit. It also makes sense as shallow depths are the ones you want to pay...

I like this idea. So, custom s52 color definition config files would be in RGB but default would adhere to strict standards. Admittedly, this is beyond my ability to implement.

OK It looks like OpenCPN's rgb rendered values are slightly off then.

Example:
CCIE 31LANDA0.3600 0.4000 49.00 brown

CIE Yxy (49.000 0.36000 0.40000) = RGB (192 188 133)

0.4182 is x
0.4220 is y

You might want to look at what you're outputing there. It seems like an odd combo of data to me.

Start with GGA, VTG,ZDA or RMC and only add what you need from there.
